The genesis of these images comes from a specific time of disruption in my life: everything had been affected and needed redefinition and rebuilding. I turned to the music of Erik Satie, Béla Bartók, and Philip Glass for their method rich in emotion and marked by a deceptive simplicity which conceals impeccable construction.


The monotype, in color or monochromatic, moves like music with phrases describing movement through space, color and light, precision and suggestion. The lightness and transparency of the paper contrasts with the thickness of five tones of ink impregnating the fiber as it is pushed through the press to become a luminous surface.


This series explores the method of absence. These are gentle songs to embrace and linger in memory.
